What do I miss about living in America? Nothing
A simple question from a friend – "What do you miss about living in America?" – ignited a profound introspection. My response was candid and unfiltered: "Nothing." This response wasn't rooted in unworthiness to a place I called home for 39 years but in a deeper understanding of the transformation that has taken place since I left the US.
Reflecting on my path, I'm reminded of the profound impact of leaving behind the familiar, shedding old identities, and embracing new horizons. With each step away from my past, I've found a richer sense of self and an evolving purpose.
In the US, I once felt the weight of an old identity, a version of myself attempting to assimilate, blend in, and seek approval. There was an unspoken pressure to conform and be a certain way to be liked or accepted.
My journey since departing the US has been a kaleidoscope of experiences. I've lived in Sweden, Spain, Mexico, and Costa Rica; each place has unraveled new layers of my identity.
Fast forward to today, almost three years since I bid farewell to the US, and I can say with unwavering conviction that choosing to move was one of the most rewarding decisions I've ever made. That choice was the key to unlocking the door to an authentic existence.
Since leaving the US, my work and purpose have flourished. As I expanded my horizons, my role evolved, mirroring my personal transformation. My identity as a trauma-informed life and wellness coach has grown from the depths of my own experiences, forging a deeper connection with those I serve.
I have the privilege of working both online through one-on-one calls with my clients and hosting transformational retreats in the jungles of Costa Rica.
♥️If you're at a crossroads, uncertain of whether to take that leap, let my journey be a testament to the beauty that blooms beyond your comfort zone. Embrace change, welcome transformation, and let go of the fear that holds you back. Growth thrives within the embrace of change, and in the pursuit of authenticity, true happiness is found.
