John was a son, a husband, and a father to Jehovah’s Witnesses, but he never was baptized. He was adopted as a child and grew up in a religiously divided household where his mother was a JW, but his father wasn’t. He attended the meetings until he was 13, then stopped going. At 20, he got married and shortly after joined the Army and served in the UK, Malaysia, Kenya, and Bosnia. During these years, the Witnesses would preach to those living in the Army housing to witness. They recruited his wife, who got baptized. She raised her son in the organization. His wife started waking up shortly after her son was disfellowshipped. That was over two years ago. For the first time in their married life, John feels he finally has his wife back!
